Recovering From Common Knee Injuries

Whatever age, activity level or fitness level, knee injuries can happen to anyone. Even some of the common injuries like sprained ligaments and arthritis flare ups can be supported to encourage faster healing and recovery.

Ligament Injuries

Sprains and strains happen when the knee or leg over stretches. Sprains are graded 1-3, from partial tears to full ruptures (no longer attached). A support can add stability and support healing. Rest may be required initially to support healing. Simple movements and gentle exercise like swimming (not breast stroke!) can help speed up healing of knee ligament pain.

Knee Osteoarthritis

Wear and tear in the knee joint over time can lead to pain and stiffness. Range of movement can be lost and movements like kneeling, squatting and stairs may become more difficult. A support can be useful for taking the pressure off, making the joint feel more stable and secure. Bending and straightening the knee on your bed will help avoid stiffness and swelling.

Cartilage Damage

The cartilage that protects the joint surface can get worn over time or can tear with twisting injuries or falls. Putting weight can be difficult and range of movement may be lost. If can often lead to trouble putting weight on the leg or walking long distances. To speed up healing and return to sport and work, a support can be worn.

The '3-Point Lock' design provides superior support over the more common two strap design. Giving a firmer 'hug' of the knee allowing the knee support to stay in place in natural alignment with the patella at the front.

What are the benefits of using an Ankle Support?

A lot of us do not have the capabilities that we did when we were younger. Whether it be due to injuries, ageing or a particular condition, our joints change over time. The same can be applied to our ankles. As we use them every single day, our ankles can get worn out over time.

There are many ways to overcome this, some tend to go for treatment whilst others use different methods. One way to recover is from using an Ankle Support, which is a great way to recover from injuries, provide support and to improve stamina and stability.

Are knee supports for runners useful

Running is an excellent hobby, with it keeping you in great shape whilst also being fun and enjoyable. It has been a staple exercise since humans first came into existence. Many people have created great careers from running, and it has created many opportunities for us all as it is easy and convenient.

However, it is common to come into complications with running. Injuries happen more often than you’d think, and some people who are injured want to continue running. As it becomes such an important part of our day, we seem to miss the endorphin rush that running brings us.
