This short video shows you exactly how to put on and wear an Essential Wellness Posture Corrector, so it gently draws your shoulders back and supports your posture comfortably through the day.
Simple steps for wearing a posture corrector
The video above shows the exact strap adjustment for our corrector. Whichever corrector you have, the same basics apply:
- Put it on over a thin layer of clothing, such as a t-shirt, so the straps sit comfortably against you.
- Adjust the straps until they are snug but never tight. You should feel your shoulders gently drawn back, not forced.
- You should be able to breathe easily and move your arms freely. If you feel pinching, numbness or tingling, loosen the straps.
- Stand naturally and let the corrector remind you of the position, rather than relying on it to hold you rigid.
How long should you wear it each day?
Start with 15 to 30 minutes a day and build up gradually as your body gets used to it, up to a few hours if it stays comfortable. Take it off if it becomes painful, and think of it as a reminder that works alongside gentle posture exercise, not a replacement for it. If you have ongoing pain, check with your GP or a physiotherapist.
